After 19 years of working on the local rivers with different outfitters, Al with his partner, Jennifer, opened their own fishing lodge and fish guiding business.
What distinguishes Elysium is their unwavering commitment to operating as a family-run, small-scale entity. Your home away from home. The lodge maintains a limited capacity of only two guests per week, enabling them to accommodate four to six guests from the same group. Their goal is to maintain a small and intimate atmosphere, providing our guests with an exceptional one-on-one customer experience. Their service is authentic, Their food is fresh and organically grown on the property, and their clients consistently return as cherished friends.
From tying flies, to navigating the river on jet boat, learning to read the fish traffic in the river flow, to appropriate use of weighted lines, for catching Chinook, Coho, Sockeye Salmon and Steelhead, we have you covered. At Elysium Fishing Lodge we are not limited to fly fishing anglers, but other angler types such as: bottom bouncing, flossing and plunking in hopes of educating and converting the angler to try fly fishing.
Elysium's fishing guide is not merely a guide; but an avid fisherman himself. Al is a highly trained wilderness expert with extensive knowledge and experience navigating rivers in a raft or jet boat.
He has dedicated years to working on the water, in the mountains, and locally guiding in the Skeena Region 6. With over 35 years of experience as a member of ACMG with the helicopter-skiing and rock-climbing industry, Al is trilingual in French, English, and Spanish. During his off-season from helicopter-skiing and rock climbing, he honed his craft working as a subcontractor for the local sport fishing industry. Al possesses a comprehensive understanding of river and fish dynamics, safety protocols, and customer service.
Jennifer is a local community member with a history of working in non-profit management, tourism promotion , who enjoys cooking, photography and gardening. We like to share our work day, our knowledge, food and local experiences with our guests.
We want you have the best experience - not just on the water, but back at home as well. Our lodge amenities include a comprehensive dining experience, catering to the diverse tastes and preferences of guests. We prioritize the use of fresh, locally produced food.
In addition to Elysium Fishing Lodge, a licensed fishing guiding service that offers exceptional, boutique-style fishing experiences, we operate an all-organic farm. We are passionate about sustainable farming and fishing methods because they work.
Since 2003 the farm has hosted many volunteers through WWOOF who are interested in learning and sharing methods of organic farming, growing food, and living sustainably as a lifestyle.
